# Catalog permissions

> Discover regions without credentials or a selected account.

Region discovery is public. Neither endpoint requires an IAM action, a bearer
token, or `X-Account-Id`:

| `GET /v1/regions/{code}` | None |

Both endpoints use `https://catalog.basaltic.sh`. Requests are limited to 100
per minute per endpoint and client IP. A 429 response means that limit was
reached; wait before retrying.

Discovering a region does not grant permission to create resources there. Each
product API enforces its own IAM actions, account access, quotas, and placement
requirements. Catalog has no public write endpoint.
